Is There Life After God?

22 July 2000, Pr Rick Ferret

(Rick is Thornleigh's Church Pastor)

Main Thought:

Based on a newspaper article by Paul Johnson in the Sunday Magazine of June 25, 2000.

The rapid advances of scientific technologies particularly in the field of biotechnology have taken the issue from the realm of theory and possibility to actual practice. Marx suggested that "Philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways. The point is to change the world, not just describe it. Ardent followers of Charles Darwin urge the same line of reasoning: Darwin described and interpreted how life works . . . the point now, is to go further and change life itself. Darwin, it has been suggested, has provided the blueprint, but biotechnology has provided both the methods and the mechanics to put the blueprint into action. The means are now available to change people, not just a discussion of anatomy and physiology. Does Christianity still have a voice in the ongoing debate? I'm reminded of a a passage in Genesis 1:26, 27. Look it up and then read on.
