Title: Life's Big Questions
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 3:1-12 New Living Bible
Introduction
All people in all cultures at a very early stage in life ask the four big universal questions. I have noticed that over the years if people forget the positive biblical answers to the questions or fail to continually revise the issues, they tend to wander from God. Without the biblical answers to the issues addressed in the big questions of life, many people may seldom find the true purpose of life.
WHERE?
Where did I come from?
Gen 1:1, 26-28; 2:7, 21-25
When we accept the biblical answer to origins we accept and acknowledge God as the beginning and source of our life.
The alternative: The agnostic and the atheist's answer for origins is the primordial bog fish frogs monkeys.
WHAT?
What am I here for?
Matt 22:37-39 28:19-20
I acknowledge Christ as God and adhere to His commands
I am here to firstly Love God and secondly to love all mankind as I love myself
This will happen when I share Christ and make disciples
The alternative: The Agnostic and atheist say, "for I me and mine. Blow you Joe I am OK."
WHERE TO AND HOW?
Where and how am I going?
John 14:1-3 To God's house - heaven.
1 John 5: 10-13 By and through Christ himself with eternal life
The alternative: The agnostic and atheist say "Going nowhere." He ignores death or may seek alternatives as NDE's or reincarnation etc.
WHEN ?
When I am I going?
1 Thess 4:16-18 When Christ comes for us. As He emphasised in Matthew and Luke it will be when we least expect it. Many times He stated that it would be soon!! Soon and unexpected because we die. The critical issue is our death date. That we will be ready for His second coming for us dead or alive.
The alternative: The agnostic and the atheist say, " Who cares. Live for now! "
THE CHOICE IS OURS
We cannot blame God or the Devil for our choices and the consequenses as many do.
Proverbs 3:3-12 is great advice re choices.
Verse 5 is great advice "Trust in the Lord with all your heart: and lean not on your own understanding.
It will not all be smooth sailing. The Lord loves, chastens, and corrects. (vv 11-12)
I believe the best option is to choose God and accept His advise and covenant of salvation. His purposes for us are the only way to make credible sense of the Big questions of life.
Don't delay accept Him today.
