Introduction to Articles

by Norman Tew

For this issue we have five articles from church members.

Two were written as articles by people whose by-lines have appeared here before.

John L Morris has used the title Sincerely Wrong for his illustrated article using personal experience to make his point.

Erica Green writes this time on the subject of hoarding under the title The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

The other three are material that was used by speakers in our weekly Bible Study time.  It is customary for the leader for the day to give a short discourse on a subject of their choosing, before we divide into Bible Study Classes.  Many of these are well worth sharing in our on-line magazine, and that is the source for these three articles.

Mary Turbet's talks have been used here before.  This time her subject is Why We are Here and she goes from the introduction of why we are in church listening to her, to the broader subject of why we are in this world.

Pastor Ray Southon is currently working as a nurse and counsellor; his talk, which is entitled Arise and Shine, is more in the form of notes than an article.  However we have left it in that form rather than distort his ideas by trying to smooth it into article format.

His wife, who is also a nurse, gave an interesting talk around her experience in the central deserts of Australia.  We have removed some of the spoken format, but not all, so this again is more in the form of a talk than an article, but is well worth reading.  Her title is When Your Brook Runs Dry, using a Biblical story of when that happened to make her point for today.
