Marvellous Creation

Awkwardly standing up front of a room filled with children, full of eyes pointed at me, exhibit A!  A well-meaning parent teaching about health stated, "Andrew's eyes have deep dark circles under them, that's because he's not a healthy sleeper."  It cut deep.  Once again I felt the pain of being different, the pain of someone criticizing the glaringly obvious physical defect that I'd been teased about continually at school.  But this time it was not a peer it was a trusted adult.  I've never forgotten how disempowering and hurtful that was. 

Some time later an amazing Pastor friend named Bob Possingham said, "God has a special plan for your life young man!"  From that moment my view of myself was sharpened by God's lens.  A supreme God, the purposeful designer of marvellous creation so many examples in our world, human and life in general!  What a difference a few thoughtful, prayerful, and caring words can make to encourage and empower a young person to see that the miracle of life and it's purpose is so amazing!  How powerful these words to awaken new images of value and meaning!

Unique and super valuable, do our children know how significant their life is?  How can I encourage and empower the children in our community this week?

Psalm 139:14 "Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvelous-and how well I know it."

How can we act and speak in a manner that will encourage, awaken value, meaning and purpose in a young person this week?  May the God of marvellous creations bless us to see opportunities to do this, I have faith that He will if we ask, listen and follow His leading.
