74 Years of Experience and a Worldwide Influence - The Story of the Adventist Discovery Centre

 
Providing Biblical resources and hope for students worldwide, The Discovery Centre has been open for business, God's business that is, for more than seven decades. As an Australian ministry of the church's South Pacific Division, the Centre began as an accompanying resource provider for the 'Voice of Prophecy' ministry in 1937, later becoming its own entity known as 'The Discovery Centre' in the 1990s.

74 years on, The Discovery Centre is currently supporting over 500 students through mail correspondence in New Zealand and Australia, and over 300 students online. From regions as far reaching as Jamaica, Zimbabwe, Trinidad, and Dominica in the Caribbean, The Discovery Centre, or TDC, is offering its services and resources to partner offices throughout the globe, with an influence that has never been more widely felt.

Pr John Gate, retired Director of The Discovery Centre, says "The Discovery Centre is now three-quarters of a century old… you know they talk about the 'paperless' office in today's society, but they never told the Discovery Centre about it! The hard-copy lessons are still bringing people to God through baptism, and are continuing to be a powerful tool for ministry."

The Discovery "Team" involves not only the office staff in Wahroonga, Sydney, but is supported by local Literature Evangelists, church members, volunteers, and even the students themselves, providing an incredible recruiting force in bringing new lives to the Word of God.

With an already substantial selection of courses available, focusing on Biblical knowledge, archaeological findings, and lifestyle, The Discovery Centre is soon to welcome the addition of two new courses!
