Springtime

I love the month of September. Why? September is the month of our first-born child as well as my wedding anniversary but also because the weather gets warmer. You wouldn't think it from this week's weather temperature. I think we have regressed back into winter a little.

September ushers in springtime when the blossoms start to bloom, nature starts waking up from its winter hiatus and the temperature starts creeping up.

Springtime conjures up a time of new beginnings, new possibilities and newness of life. Not only in nature but also in a spiritual sense. Sometimes our spiritual life also takes periods of down times where we disconnect with God but "spring" gives us opportunities to re-energise or reboot our spiritual life. To have a newness or release of spiritual awakening!

So how do we do this? It takes a commitment and a desire to connect with the creator and redeemer. This desire than fuels our decision making in wanting to spend time with God by reading the Bible, spending time in prayer and reflecting on Him. We are also to put our faith into practice by showing love to others, meeting someone else's needs or just praying with a person who is hurting. It also involves being open to the Holy Spirit's leading and prompting to look for opportunities to share your story about God with others. It's moments like these that rejuvenates our spiritual life and experience.

A wise man called Solomon wrote,

"See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves is heard in our land." (Song of Songs 2:11-12)

Winter is past! Your spiritual journey in the past is past! It's time to reboot your spiritual walk! To spend more time with God.

May your spiritual life this spring be a season of singing and joy. May your faith blossom as we put our faith into action and have a spiritual awakening!
